This poignant image speaks of the harsh reality of despair, destitution, and hunger plaguing our brothers and sisters in Gaza. It depicts the struggle for sustenance, where the simple act of securing food becomes the survival of the fittest.
According to the World Food Programme (WFP), the number of people in Gaza facing extreme levels of hunger has doubled in less than three months, increasing to an estimated 1.1 million people today. In North Gaza, one in every three children under two is suffering from acute malnutrition.
The situation in Gaza remains dire, highlighting the urgency for collective action and solidarity. As the 27th night of Ramadan approaches, a night which many believe to be Laylat-al-Qadr, let’s nourish those in need, and reap the rewards of our good deeds. Gaza is in desperate need of our support.

Muslim Hands is partnering with the UN World Food Programme (WFP) to provide hot meals in Gaza this Ramadan. The hot meals are composed of lentils, pasta, rice, oil, tomato sauce, legumes and pulses. Watch to see how these meals are a lifeline for vulnerable civilians.
Richard Wilcox, Director of Private Partnerships at WFP, said: ‘Families across Gaza are facing catastrophic levels of hunger. Half of them have now completely exhausted their food supplies – parents are simply unable to feed their children. Meanwhile, most people have left or lost their homes due to the conflict. That’s why support from partners like Muslim Hands is critical, helping WFP scale our operations to fight hunger in Gaza and reach those in need with 500,000 daily iftar meals this Ramadan.’
We are also working through our partner, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East ( UNRWA) to provide Emergency Food Parcels that can feed a family of seven for one month. Your gift of $250 can provide a Family Survival Pack which includes emergency food items, medical support, hygiene kits and blankets. $650 can provide clean drinkable water to 80 people.
Together, let's rise to the challenge and make a tangible difference in the lives of the hungry. Your Sadaqah and Zakat have the power to bring relief to those enduring unimaginable hardships.
