Yemen Borehole Rehabilitation

Many of Yemen’s existing boreholes, wells, and water systems are severely affected by years of conflict and neglect. These systems need repair to provide safe, clean drinking water.

$250 can provide a share in rehabilitating a deep borehole in Yemen.

Earn Endless Rewards Through our Safe Water Fund

Make a difference by donating to our Safe Water Fund. The funds collected support clean water projects in areas that need it the most.

Every contribution helps provide clean water to communities in need.

Q. Where are the wells built, and can I choose the location?

A. We build Tube Wells, Community Wells, and Dig-a-Wells in Mali, The Gambia, and Pakistan. We also rehabilitate existing water systems in Yemen. You can choose which location you would like your well to be built in. If you are unsure, select the ‘Where Most Needed’ option and let our team of experts pick a location for you, based on current needs.

Q. How does Muslim Hands determine the exact location of the well?

A. We work with a wide range of expert partners who are on the ground in each location. These partners help to carry out periodic assessments, taking a detailed profile of each community and determining their needs. They work with the community leaders to work out what types of wells and how many need to be constructed in each area.

Q. How long will it take well to build?

A. It can take anywhere from six to eight months to build a well. This timeline is an estimate - location and weather conditions may affect timelines.

Q. How long does a well usually last?

A. It depends on which well you are donating. For example, a Tube Well with proper maintenance can last up to 10 years, while a Community Well and a Borehole can last up to 15-20 years.

Q. Who maintains the well after it has been built?

A. Every time we install a well, we also train, educate, and support local community members, ensuring they have the skills to maintain the well.

Q. Can I choose what to write on my plaque?

A. Yes, you can personalize a well. Many donors choose to write their names or the names of their loved ones who have passed away. Donating a well on behalf of a loved one is one of the best forms of Sadaqah Jariyah.

Q. What's included in the completion report for my well?

A. A completion report includes pictures of your well and the beneficiaries. It also includes detailed information about the village your well is in, as well as the impact your well is making in the lives of community members.

Q. Does the well come with a plaque?

A. Yes. You can choose to add a name that you would like to appear on the plaque that is installed on the well. If you don’t want to include a name, you can leave this section blank.

Q. Do I receive feedback, and when?

A. Yes. You will receive personalized ‘feedback reports’ after your well has been completed. These reports will give you more details about the project as well as pictures of the well and information about the beneficiaries.

Q. Will the water well look exactly like the images shown?

A. Actual water well designs may vary by location and specific project requirements.

Q. Why Should I Donate my Well with Muslim Hands?

A. We have provided underprivileged communities with access to clean water for over 30 years.

We specialize in installing various types of wells, including Tube Wells, Dig-a-Wells, Community wells, Solar-Powered Wells, along with Reverse Osmosis Filtration Plants and Boreholes.

Through the years, we have installed thousands of wells, benefitting hundreds of thousands of people. Our technicians and engineers use high-quality materials to ensure every well is built to last.

This commitment to excellence means your donation not only supports communities in need, but also guarantees lasting impact, allowing you to reap the rewards of your generosity for years to come.

We also offer a personalized plaque and a detailed feedback report which includes the location of where your well has been built and images of those benefiting from your donation. Each well takes approximately six to eight months to complete, making it a meaningful and lasting gift.
