Bangladesh Floods: A Single Mother Stranded
Farida Begum, a single mother of three, is among the many women stranded due to the rapidly rising Manu River, which has submerged her home.
Without a boat to escape, Farida frantically called for help when the deadly flood struck her home. With assistance, the family was able to leave and seek shelter at a nearby school, which is now overcrowded with families.
Farida has since returned home, which remains immersed in water. She faces the dire situation of having no food. Feeling helpless and anxious, Farida was desperate for help. She and many families like her urgently need your support to ensure they have the essentials to survive.
Since the onset of the floods in Bangladesh, our teams have been on the ground, delivering emergency aid such as food and water to those affected.
Sadly, more than 71 lives have been lost, homes and infrastructure have been damaged, and the threat of waterborne diseases is escalating.
