Ramadan in Gaza: A Moment of Hope Amidst Crisis

This Ramadan, a brief ceasefire in Gaza gives a glimpse of hope to Palestinians. According to the World Food Programme (WFP), the humanitarian situation remains dire, with over two million Gazans homeless and without income, depending on food assistance for survival. Despite a temporary ceasefire, millions of people still need life-saving support in Gaza.
According to the United Nations (UN), over 45,000 Palestinians have lost their lives in Gaza since October 2023. Entire neighbourhoods have been reduced to rubble. Healthcare and education systems have collapsed, and food insecurity is at an all-time high. Yet, amidst this devastation, the resilience of Palestinians is truly remarkable.
The consequences of food insecurity are especially severe for children. Without access to food, children face significant challenges in their developmental growth, cognitive abilities and well-being. Most alarmingly, child mortality is directly linked with malnutrition.
As charitable deeds are multiplied during the month of Ramadan, there is no better time to support our brothers and sisters in Gaza. The collective impact of our efforts can be powerful in igniting change and transforming the lives of Gazans.
With your help, we’ve been able to provide over 444,000 meals, distributed hundreds of emergency food parcels and delivered hundreds of thousands of hot cooked meals to Gazans. We are working through the World Food Programme (WFP), our partner on the ground, to provide hot cooked meals, bread, and emergency food parcels for the Gazans.
Your donations to our Gaza Emergency Appeal, continue to support impactful relief initiatives that can save lives and ignite hope to those affected by this ongoing tragedy. Our initiatives, such as delivering Hot Cooked Meals for Gaza, distributing Bread for Gaza, and providing Gaza Emergency Food Parcels can make a tangible difference in the lives of Gazans today.
This Ramadan, let us stand together in solidarity with the people of Gaza, for even the smallest act of kindness can bring hope to those in desperate need and help rebuild a future amidst the devastation.
