Best Charitable Causes to Donate in Ramadan – 2024
This Ramadan, your Zakat and Sadaqah have the power to transform lives offering hope, relief, and care to those most in need. Ramadan is not only a time of fasting and prayer but an opportunity to extend relief by uplifting vulnerable and marginalized communities through charity. From helping our brothers and sisters in Gaza and Yemen to giving the gift of clean water to communities facing water scarcity, and offering care to orphaned children, each cause presents an opportunity for your hands to become vessels of mercy and compassion.
The Gazans have endured over five months of suffering resulting in over 30,000 lives lost, with more than 70,000 injured, and around 1.9 million displaced.
The lack of access to food and water has led to acute malnutrition, particularly affecting pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as children, who are the most vulnerable. We are working through our partner UNRWA to provide necessities to the people of Gaza. $150 can provide an Emergency Food Parcel that can provide food to a family of seven for one month. Your gift of $250 can provide a Family Survival Pack which includes emergency food items, medical support, as well as hygiene kits and blankets. $650 can provide clean drinkable water to 80 people. We are also working with a partner on the ground to provide hot iftar meals to the people of Gaza.
Since 2015, Yemen has been dealing with a humanitarian crisis that has left more than 21.6 million people in desperate need of assistance, with the most vulnerable being women and children. Our bread factory provides bread to thousands of Yemenis on the brink of starvation. Read Shams story, a widow and a mother to two disabled sons whose life has transformed since receiving bread.
Watch to see our Bread factories in Yemen which have been a source of sustenance for thousands of Yemenis, as well as our medical clinic in Yemen which is a beacon of hope for many families.
Donate Water: According to a report published by UN Children’s Fund titled: ‘Triple Threat: How Disease, Climate Risks, and Unsafe Water,” unsafe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) is responsible for the deaths of around 400,000 children under the age of five every year. That’s 1000 children every day. You have the power to save these children.
For just $390, you can provide a tube well for up to four families for drinking, washing, and cooking. For $1200, you can donate a dig-a-well, serving up to 200 people. You can also donate any amount to our Safe Water Fund.
Consider the blessings that come with donating to such an initiative, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.
Your Sadaqah Jariyah donation not only transforms lives but continues to benefit generations to come.
Care for Orphans: The Prophet ( saw) said: “I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him will be in Paradise like this,” (putting his index and middle finger together).
For just $2 a day, you can sponsor an orphan in some of the world’s most underprivileged communities. By doing so, you will not only follow a beautiful Prophetic Sunnah, but your gift will look after all aspects of a child’s well-being, from his or her education and healthcare to providing emotional support and nutritious meals.
Give to Where Most Needed:If you’re unsure of where to allocate your Sadaqah and Zakat, consider donating to the Where Most Needed Fund. By doing so, your Gifts of Kindness will be directed where the need is the greatest. From providing emergency relief in disaster zones to educating children from disadvantaged communities, our experts will ensure your donation has a far-reaching impact on the Ummah.
May our hands and hearts radiate empathy and kindness this Ramadan, bringing comfort to those facing the darkest circumstances. Let us remember that our actions, no matter how small, have the power to transform lives.
