What Should You Do If You Have Unpaid Qurbanis from Previous Years?
If you have missed offering Qurbani – also referred to as Udhiyah – in previous years despite being eligible, it’s important to address it with sincerity and a clear intention to make right.
In Islamic teachings, Qurbani is an obligation upon those who meet the required financial threshold. If it was missed while you had the means, it is considered a duty that still needs to be fulfilled.
Acknowledge the missed obligation, seek forgiveness from Allah (swt), and make a firm intention not to delay it again in the future. Islam emphasizes mercy, and turning back with sincerity is always accepted.
To make up for missed Qurbanis, many scholars recommend giving the equivalent value in charity for each year that was missed. This can be done by donating to a trusted Muslim humanitarian aid organization that distributes meat or essential food support to those in need. While this does not replace the exact act of sacrifice performed during Eid al-Adha, it fulfills the responsibility of compensating for what was missed.
If possible, you may also choose to offer additional Qurbanis in upcoming years with the intention of making up for past ones.

Ultimately, what matters most is your intention, accountability, and effort to correct past shortcomings. Allah (swt) is Most Forgiving and appreciates every step taken toward fulfilling your obligations.
