Ramadan in Gaza

Updates from Aid workers on the ground distributing Food and other essentials to vulnerable civilians within Gaza.

A local kitchen called Friends Kitchen which is run by a family of chefs – Abu Elabed Kurd, Um Elabed Kurd, and
Mahmoud – who have dedicated their time and effort to cook for people in need and displaced families, in addition to the distribution of these hot meals.

WFP is working with 6 partners and a network of 74 community-kitchens to deliver over 200,000 hot meals daily to people in southern and central Gaza. By
providing them with food commodities, lentils, pasta, rice, fortified vegetable oil, tomato sauce, legumes and pulses

Amidst the ruins of their destroyed home in Gaza, Khaled and Siham, with their children, gather for a humble iftar meal during Ramadan. Despite fasting through long hours, their meal is sparse, reflecting the scarcity of food entering the Gaza Strip. Their resilience shines as they refuse to leave their targeted home.

A young boy received a hot meal from World Food Programmes recent distribution in Gaza, one of many children currently facing high levels of malnutrition.
