The Fundraising Manager will lead fundraising efforts, develop strategies, engage in community outreach, and manage digital marketing activities, including social media and advertisements. They will also oversee procurement across various marketing channels, such as digital, television, print, radio, and outdoor platforms.
This role entails facilitating fundraising efforts for the organization's benefit, collaborating closely with various departments and divisions to foster departmental growth, functionality, and alignment with organizational objectives.

Job Responsibilities
- Team Development and Management
- · Collaborate with the Executive Director to establish strategic goals and long-term plans for fundraising and marketing at Muslim Hands.
- Inspire, mentor, and lead a dynamic team of fundraising and marketing professionals to achieve organizational goals.
- Identify team development needs, facilitate training opportunities, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Encourage cross-functional collaboration, ensuring alignment between fundraising and marketing strategies for maximum impact.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and provide constructive feedback to drive individual and team success.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture, aligned with organizational values and objectives.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and achieve objectives, including forming an effective working relationship with the other departmental managers.
Digital Marketing and Fundraising
- Lead on the planning and implementation of Muslim Hands Canada’s fundraising and marketing strategy.
- Develop marketing budgets and timelines for all the fundraising campaigns, press and associated activities.
- Oversee the design and coordination of all Muslim Hands Canada’s marketing materials, ensuring consistency of message, tone and terminology across all communication channels and appropriate language use for a diverse range of audiences
- Lead and deliver fundraising campaigns through a wide range of communication channels that increase the profile, brand, reputation and influence of Muslim Hands Canada.
- Support the communications team to identify the right audiences, using tools, techniques and channels.
- Oversee and manage the procurements of all marketing such as digital, television, print, radio and outdoor.
- Act as principal liaison with external corporations and PR consultants, ensuring brand guidelines are adhered to in all our communications required.
Community Fundraising
- Develop and execute a community fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals, with a focus on achieving defined fundraising targets.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to the Events and Volunteer Coordinator in recruiting, managing, and engaging volunteers for fundraising activities.
- Develop and implement a plan to establish and maintain relationships with universities, mosques, and other community groups. Collaborate with the Local Projects and Outreach Coordinator to leverage these partnerships for effective community engagement and project support, ensuring the implementation of ISOCS.
- Work with your team to book and manage fundraising collections at the Mosques throughout the year, with regular key bookings during Ramadan, Qurbani and other holy periods.
- Promote fundraising campaigns through various channels and attend relevant events for networking.
Major Giving
- Develop and execute major giving strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Work towards an agreed annual income target and support the management of the major donor expenditure budget.
- Oversee a portfolio of key donors and individual prospects to drive major giving.
- Identify key cultivation opportunities for major donors and prospects throughout the year and ensure its integration in the overall strategy.
- Coordinate with the Programs department to provide any programmatic feedback, regarding the management of major donors.
Key Skills and Qualification - Must haves:
- Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising within the charity sector.
- Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
Desirables:
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field (master’s degree preferred)
- Displays a keen eye for detail and maintains a high level of accuracy.
- Capable of effectively multitasking under pressure.
About Muslim Hands
When, in 1993, the Bosnian War brought devastation to eastern Europe, a community in Nottingham, England, was moved to take action. This small team of volunteers started by collecting money, clothes and medicine for the struggling people of Bosnia.
From this grassroots movement, Muslim Hands has grown into an international aid agency and NGO. Since then we have responded to numerous emergencies worldwide, and established myriad long-term projects like schools, health clinics and livelihood programmes.
Muslim Hands was incorporated in Canada as a separate and independent entity in October 2015 and there is a pending application for registration with the Canada Revenue Agency. Delivery of projects outside of Canada is through an affiliated Muslim Hands organisation.
Muslim Hands is determined not just to provide immediate relief but to battle the root causes of poverty worldwide. We work beyond the immediate needs of communities, ensuring they have sufficient support for the long-term.
