In Pictures: Ramadan Hot Meals to Shelters in the GTA
This Ramadan, Muslim Hands Canada, in partnership with Ansaar Foundation, will provide 1200 hot iftar meals to Muslims living in shelters and experiencing food insecurity.
Over four consecutive weekends, we will distribute 150 freshly prepared meals to vulnerable individuals in shelters across downtown Toronto and York region. Prepared by local vendors, these nutritious meals ensure Muslims experiencing food insecurity can break their fast with dignity.
Many Canadians struggle to observe Ramadan without a hot meal in the evening. Through this coordinated effort, both organizations aim to provide nourishment and care to those who need it most.
According to Food Banks Canada, 1 in 4 people in Canada live in food-insecure households.
