It's finally here! We are giving you a truly hands-on volunteer experience to work abroad in Punjab, Pakistan for 10 days with local schools and communities for an experience of a lifetime.

On this placement, you will have the chances to empower unprivileged and orphaned children through teaching, building their confidence and skills, to tackle poverty and work towards a brighter future for themselves and coming generations.

Event Details

Volunteers are invited to support improve the community in Punjab, Pakistan on this 10-day trip in various ways, including sharing their valuable skills and knowledge with students and teachers on the ground. They will also participate in coaching on sports or take part in other community projects we run, such as eye camps, medical camps, and water projects.


Helping the children of Pakistan

For children in developing countries a lack of funds, facilities, education, and the loss of one or both parents are unfortunately a sad reality for many.

The sustenance of nutritious meals and the chance of a secure future can all become an impossible dream. Therefore, it is our responsibility that the care of orphans and needy children falls on us.

With your support, Muslims Hands will:

• Invest in the future of our children, by covering school fees and providing necessary textbooks, stationary and uniforms
• Provide free daily nutritious meals, ensuring hunger does not stop children from getting the most out of their school day
• Provide free medical check-ups across Pakistan, to ensure children are in the best of health
• Provide free transport for all students in our Schools of Excellence
• Provide state of the art facilities, including computer labs and Audio Visual aids to optimize learning experiences
• Hire and train enthusiastic teachers to provide the best education possible!

Q. What are the requirements to take part?

A. • Minimum aged 18 years old
• A reasonable level of health and fitness is required
• Passports must hold a minimum of 10 months validity from October 2024
• All elements of the registration process must be completed
• Participants are required to carefully read and agree to all terms and conditions, and abide by the guidelines for the success of this trip.

Q. When are the deadlines to register and fundraise for this trip?

A. To secure your place you must pay a holding deposit of $500 upon registration.

All participants are required to fundraise a minimum of $7000 sponsorship money.

Deadline to register: September 1st, 2024
Deadline to pay the holding deposit: Within 30 days of registering
Deadline to complete fundraising: September 30th, 2024

Q. What does this trip include and not include?

A. What your trip includes:

• Return flights from UK to Pakistan airport and ground travel to Wazirabad, Pakistan
• UK departure tax
• Transport as per the itinerary
• Safe and basic accommodation throughout (based on twin share)
• All meals
• MH group leader and full supporting crew
• Luggage transfers
• Local overseas departure taxes

What your trip does NOT include:

• Travel insurance - To ensure health and safety of the highest standard, all participants will be accompanied by a Muslim Hands representative at all times. Appropriate travel insurance is a condition of participation. For further information please contact a member of the Events Team.
• Visas
• Recommended vaccinations - Though there are no specific vaccinations required for this trip, please do ensure you are up to date on all necessary boosters and vaccinations by speaking to your local GP/travel clinic. Advised vaccinations include Hepatitis A, Tetanus, Typhoid and Diphtheria.
• Telephone, internet communication
• Spending money
• Your own personal kit
• Excess luggage costs
• External travel arrangements and costs
• External accommodation arrangements and costs
• Personal trips during project days
• Travel to and from UK airport

Q. What do I need to pack and bring with me?

A. • Casual, comfortable clothes for the duration of 10 days
• Waterproof clothing (in case it rains)
• Boots/trainers/sandals
• Small first aid kit
• Towel/soap/toiletries
• Sunblock
• Your Muslim Hands t-shirt
• Camera, film, batteries, power bank (optional)

Q. What will the weather be like?

A. The average temperature in October in Pakistan is 23°C. Overnight temperatures are generally warm with an average low of 15 °C.

Q. What will we have to eat?

A. All food will be halal and free of alcohol. Traditional local food will be provided throughout the trip. If you have specific requirements, please ensure to let us know.

Q. Can I visit family and friends during my stay?

A. All personal trips and visits must be made outside of the project days. If you wish you may extend your stay, but all extra costs will be your responsibility. Please contact the Events team for further information.

Q. What will we be doing on the trip?

A. • Work alongside teachers and MH staff at the schools we run. You will be rotated between different classes and run workshops/lessons with the children/teachers.
• Visit local projects and assist with the running of the activities there. These will vary between eye camps, medical camps and water-well installations.
• Activities with the students and staff within the schools, such as sports sessions.

Lastly, there will be a farewell ceremony and a treat day - for sightseeing and shopping!
