Content Specialist
Overview:
Muslim Hands Canada is seeking a results-driven Content Specialist to manage and optimize our digital presence across websites, search engines, email marketing, and fundraising campaigns.
This role combines technical web content management, SEO strategy, digital storytelling, and conversion optimization to increase engagement, donor acquisition, and online revenue.
Position Summary
Key Responsibilities
- • Own and manage website content across multiple domains and campaign landing pages using Umbraco CMS.
- • Publish, update, and maintain web pages while ensuring content accuracy, accessibility compliance, SEO optimization, and brand consistency.
- • Conduct website audits to identify technical, content, SEO, and UX improvements.
- • Develop and execute SEO strategies to increase organic traffic, keyword rankings, and conversion rates.
- • Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and content gap assessments using SEO tools.
- • Create and optimize landing pages for fundraising campaigns, donor acquisition, emergency appeals, and lead generation.
- • Develop compelling content for websites, email campaigns, social media, reports, fundraising materials, and digital advertisements.
- • Support Google Ads, Meta Ads, YouTube campaigns, and A/B testing initiatives.
- • Monitor performance using Google Analytics 4, Search Console, and reporting dashboards.
- • Collaborate with developers, designers, fundraising, and program teams to improve digital experiences and donor journeys.
Required Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Digital Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- • 3–5 years of experience in web content management, SEO, digital marketing, or content strategy.
- • Experience managing content within enterprise CMS platforms, preferably Umbraco.
- • Strong understanding of technical SEO, on-page SEO, and search engine ranking factors.
- • Experience creating content for conversion funnels, fundraising campaigns, and donor journeys.
- • Knowledge of Islamic terminology and values and the ability to communicate them authentically.

- • CMS: Umbraco, WordPress
- • SEO: Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog
- • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Looker Studio, Hotjar/Microsoft Clarity
- • Marketing Automation & CRM: HubSpot, Salesforce, Mailchimp
- • Digital Advertising: Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, YouTube Advertising
- • Web Technologies: HTML5, CSS, basic JavaScript, Schema Markup, Core Web Vitals, WCAG Accessibility Standards

In 1993, as the Bosnian War devastated Eastern Europe, a community in Nottingham, England, was compelled to act. A small group of dedicated volunteers began by gathering funds, clothing, and medical supplies for the people of Bosnia in their time of need.
