Main Responsibilities 

Program Management   

  • Manage and guide the programs team to deliver high quality and impactful programming in the areas of WASH, Food Security, Livelihood, Education, Health and Emergency. 
  • Ensure all program areas are aligned with strategic objectives and outcomes. 
  • Effectively oversee all programs related financial transactions. 
  • Review and provide final approval for all projects submitted by partner offices. 
  • Collaborate with both local and international partners to ensure the successful delivery of projects and adherence to program criteria. 
  • Develop and maintain strong reporting mechanisms including program delivery, financial reporting and monitoring. 
  • Support the development and management of the programs budget with regular reviews and updates provided to senior management. 
  • Ensure the effective use of Muslim Hands Canada software including program, donor and expense management systems. 
  • Work collaboratively with all internal departments to communicate program priorities, project updates and developments. 
  • Develop training and processes for effective management of all program areas as required. 
  • Ensure overseas partners are working in line with partnership’ policies which meet the organizational strategic aims including supporting the due diligence and partnership renewal process. 
  • Review and assist the development of partner organizations by providing training, resources and feedback.  
  • Develop and implement a clear communication structure between program and fundraising departments to provide timely feedback to Muslim Hands’ supporters.    
  • Provide timely feedback to fundraising department, supporters and stakeholders particularly during emergencies response, Ramadan, Qurbani or any specific campaigns.  
  • To be versed and familiar with existing changes within the required standards and regulations for INGOs / humanitarian relief, development agencies and local laws (CHS). 
  • Any other duties as required to support the organization 

 

Essential Criteria: 

A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Project Management, International Development or Humanitarian Response (post-graduate degree in a relevant field, highly preferred). 

    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field. 
    • Strong understanding of the international development and humanitarian sector. 
    • Ability to work with diverse teams across different countries and backgrounds. 
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to speak to different audiences. 
    • Ability to travel, including to remote project locations for project monitoring and partner meetings. 
    • Strong leadership, management and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams. 
    • Good experience of budget development, management and control including resource allocation based on needs. 
    • Commitment to the vision, mission and values of Muslim Hands Canada and a passion for making a difference in the world. 
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and working under pressure to meet deadlines.

Position Summary

Program Monitoring, Evalution and Learning (MEAL)

  • Develop and implement regular processes of monitoring and data collection of all Muslim Hands Canada programs.
  • Ensure effective regular monitoring of international programs to evaluate the impact and direction of the programs.
  • Ensure after recommendations are implemented to improve delivery of programs.

Support to Senior Management

  • Support senior management in producing program strategic plans, budgets and new policies for the future of Muslim Hands Canada.
  • Present programmatic feedback and financial reports to Executive Director, Senior Management and Board of Directors on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Advise senior management on the future projects and the viability of obtaining funds to support project initiatives.
  • Attend meetings as required to report and give input on program matters.
  • Work with senior management and ensure Muslim Hands program policies and practices are in line in with the program standards, CRA rules and other requirements.

Staff Management

  • Ensure clear communication and coordination between all program staff members and inter-departmental communication
  • Conduct regular performance reviews to ensure team members are achieving or exceeding their targets on a regular basis, through one-to-one line accountability meetings and department reviews.
  • Develop policies and processes which ensure that staff are effectively recruited, inducted, trained and managed.
  • Plan and implement continuous professional development for team members to gain and learn relevant skills.
  • Provide regular feedback, training and support throughout the year to create a capable and highly motivated workforce.
  • Undertake any reasonable responsibilities as required by line manager and adhere to all Muslim Hands Policy.
  • Ensure effective management of team’s time keeping and attendance.
