From your generous donations, Muslim Hands Canada sends students to one of our Muslim Hands Schools of Excellence. If children attend another school, guardians are given the funds to ensure that their needs are met.

Sponsorship funds cover tuition fees, uniforms, books, stationery, medical and health checks, food, and transportation. The remaining funds are kept at our field offices for project delivery and future fundraising and marketing efforts.

Muslim Hands Canada ensures only the most deserving children are selected for sponsorship.

We conduct thorough checks to ensure children qualify as orphans. Our field officers collect official documents, including death certificates of deceased parent(s) and other legal papers from guardians.

We also visit the children and their families to assess housing conditions and determine whether they are eligible.

This thorough vetting process guarantees the most deserving orphans receive life-saving support.

Our motto at Muslim Hands is to help anyone who requires assistance, irrespective of his or her religion, gender, ethnicity, or country of origin. Our orphan sponsorship program is Zakat-eligible.

Upon sponsoring a child, you will receive an orphan pack that contains information about the child with a recent picture. Thereafter, you will receive an annual feedback report updating you on the child’s circumstances, their performance at school, as well as an updated picture.

You can sponsor your orphan yearly, with the option of making monthly donations. However, we encourage you to support a child until he/she reaches the age of 18.

Yes, your orphan sponsorship is Zakat-eligible. Please ensure you specify this when setting up your donation.

It would be ideal if you could provide 60 days’ notice so we can find a replacement sponsor for your orphan. If you cannot do this, in the interim, we will support your orphan through the General Orphan Fund until the child finds a sponsor. If you cannot sponsor an orphan, you can continue supporting orphans by donating to this fund.

You can provide funds for gifts, which will be delivered to relevant field offices and sent to your sponsored orphan. However, you cannot have direct contact with the orphan.

Definitely! You can write to your sponsored donor. Please send any communication to mail@muslimhands.ca – letters will be forwarded to the relevant field office. Muslim Hands reserves the right to withhold any letters that we consider inappropriate.

It may be possible for you to visit your orphan at your own expense. This is determined on a case-by-case basis. If a meeting is permitted, representatives from a Muslim Hands office supervise the visit.

If you wish to provide additional support to your sponsored child, please contact our donor care team at mail@muslimhands.ca. You can send an Eid gift to your child through our website. However, at this point, we don’t accept any non-financial gifts.
