Dua for New Parents

A New Beginning Rooted in Faith

Welcoming a child into the world is one of life’s greatest blessings. Islam reminds us to turn to Allah (swt) in these moments, thanking Him for the gift of life and seeking His guidance, protection, and strength as we begin this new chapter.

Dua for a Newborn

This dua from the Qur’an asks Allah (swt) to place love, peace, and righteousness within the family.

رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ Transliteration: Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a‘yun Translation: Our Lord, grant us comfort and joy through our spouses and children

Dua for a Child’s Health and Healing

When a child is unwell, this du’a places full trust in Allah (swt) as the source of healing.

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ Transliteration: Allahumma Rabban-naas adhhib il-ba’sa washfi anta ash-shaafi laa shifaa’a illa shifaa’uk Translation: O Allah (swt), Lord of mankind, remove the harm and grant healing. You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing

Dua for Righteous Children

This simple supplication was made by Prophet Ibrahim, asking Allah (swt) for righteous offspring.

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ Transliteration: Rabbi hab li minas-saliheen Translation: My Lord, grant me righteous children

Dua for Steadfast Faith

This dua asks Allah (swt) to help parents and children remain firm in prayer and faith.

رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي Transliteration: Rabbij‘alni muqeemas-salaati wa min dhurriyyati Translation: My Lord, make me one who establishes prayer, and from my descendants

Dua for Congratulating New Parents

This supplication can be shared when welcoming a new baby and congratulating the family.

بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ فِي الْمَوْهُوبِ لَكَ وَرُزِقْتَ بِرَّهُ Transliteration: Barakallahu laka fil-mawhoobi lak wa ruziqta birrah Translation: May Allah (swt) bless you in the child gifted to you and grant you righteousness through them.

Welcoming Life with Dua

Parenthood is a journey of patience, love, and learning. Through dua, new parents place their trust in Allah (swt) and seek His help in raising children with care, faith, and compassion.

May Allah (swt) bless all families with healthy children, peaceful homes, and hearts filled with gratitude. Ameen.
